Galactus, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a cosmic entity of immense power and scale, often referred to as a devourer of worlds. Unlike the comic book version who pre-dates the current universe, the MCU version of Galactus is so far only alluded to. He is expected to be a significant antagonist in future phases.

While not yet fully revealed, his modus operandi involves consuming the life force of planets to sustain his own existence. This makes him a planet-level threat, posing an existential danger to entire civilizations. The implications for Earth and other populated planets within the MCU are dire should Galactus arrive. His heralds, like the Silver Surfer, are beings empowered to seek out planets for him to consume.

Galactus's motives are not purely malicious; survival is his primary driver. However, the consequences of his actions are devastating, making him a force of destruction that heroes will inevitably have to confront. Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966) marks the characters first appearance in the comic books.
